In short

See the next six weeks as clearly as today.

The master schedule tells the story of the project. The look-ahead tells the field what to do next. That window of three to six weeks is where the plan meets the workface, and where most productivity is won or lost.

We set up rolling look-ahead processes that draw work from the current schedule, break it into crew-level tasks and screen every task for constraints: design, materials, permits, access and equipment. Only work that is genuinely ready reaches the weekly plan, and what the field learns flows back into the master schedule.

Questions, answered

What leaders ask us first.

Straight answers from the people who do the work. If your question is not here, ask us directly. A senior practitioner will reply.

How far ahead should a look-ahead go?

Usually three to six weeks, set by procurement lead times and the pace of the work.

Who should own the look-ahead?

The field team, typically superintendents and foremen, supported by the planner. We design the process so ownership sits where the work happens.

How does it connect to the CPM schedule?

The look-ahead is drawn from the CPM update, and its outcomes are fed back each period, so the two stay aligned rather than drifting into separate versions of reality.
